There is nothing more powerful in this world than human emotion. This going to sound like an absolutely shallow example of what made me think of this in this moment...but I just finished watching Super Bowl 42. The NY Giants were able to come in and pull off one of the biggest upsets in NFL history. As an avid Cowboys fan, I should not have been rooting for them (seeing as how they are the ones that kept MY team from playing) but I just couldnt help myself, I am all about the underdog.
As one of the players, Plaxico started to do his post game victory interview, he broke down and tears streamed down his face. I of course cried with him, simply amazing. Another shot showed a player with his two young sons, colorful confetti swirling all around them, screaming "Just take it all in boys, take it all in!"
Again, I realize there are more exraordinary displays of human emotion both positive and negative that I have been priviledged enough to witness, but this one sparked me to finally write my first post to this blog...aptly named Soul Force.
For those of you that dont know, Soul's Force was the name the Gandhi gave to his ahimsa (non-violent movement) and I immediately fell in love with it upon hearing it. My idealistic pisces heart tells me that anything is possible in this world, if we do genuinely apply a little bit of "soul force." Tonight's display of emotion and genuine accomplishment that came from hard work, despite public disbelief reinforces that sentiment.
Awesome job Eli! Way to silence everyone that has probably said all of your life..."Yeah, he's good, but not as good as his older brother." you deserve every minute of this momentous celebration!
